Dear Families,

We hope you are all well and thank you for your ongoing support and patience.

As you may have heard, Term Two will commence via a Remote Learning Environment.  We are planned and prepared to continue your child’s learning remotely with a variety of supports for your child and you during this unprecedented time.

All students that can learn from home must learn from home, the Department of Education has set out descriptive guidelines for children eligible to access on-site learning.  If your child fits into one of the below categories and you require on-site care for your child, please email me by Thursday 9th April at 2pm: zorko.gabrielle.m@edumail.vic.gov.au.  I will require your child’s details and which category (below) they fit so I can follow up with you on Tuesday 14th April prior to school commencing on Wednesday 15th April. 

a. Children on days when they are not able to be supervised at home (both parents are working – this does not include parents working from home) and no other arrangements can be made. This will be available for children of parents who cannot work from home, and vulnerable children, including:
•  children in out-of-home care
•  children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm
•  children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service and children with a disability).
b.  For learning requirements that cannot be conducted via distance, and considering operational requirements set out below, small groups of VCE and VCAL students are permitted to attend school, with appropriate physical distancing and hygiene measures in place.

On Tuesday 14th April you will receive full details about your child’s remote learning environment plan.  Rest assured there will be mobile phone and online support options (technical support, administration support, learning support via the teacher & ES, well-being support and principal class support). 

​We will be here for you as educators as well as members of your extended Springside family, we are all in this together.
